I started my career in music at about 5 years old when I discovered a load of my dad's vinyls..back in 1984 the world was going mad for this thing called a cassette, but these great big sleeves of beautiful art unravelling before my eyes were seductive beyond belief. Tasking my sister with putting the records on since I couldn't reach the turntable, I distinctly remember four very early classics on heavy rotation. Pinky And Perky, The Jungle Book soundtrack, Billy Joel's Piano Man and Trevor Chance 'Everything Must Change'. Yup. That last one was my dad, and he was signed to RCA Victor, managed by Don Black CBE and at one time sang with the great Buddy Rich. But to me he was just dad, and it was just music, and it was everywhere.
